Step-by-Step Guide
Tools Required:
- Open end wrench for the (square head plug) drain plug
- Drain pan
- Funnel
- Oil filter wrench
- Clean shop rags
Supplies Required:
Follow the steps below:
- Run engine to bring compressor unit up to operating temperature.
- Stop the engine and let unit sit for 5 minutes, allowing oil to enter the oil mist separator tank.
- Make sure the pressure gauge is at zero "0" psi.
- Place a drain pan under the unit below the compressor oil drain plug(s). Remove the plug(s) to drain oil.
- Tighten the plugs after draining.
- Remove the compressor oil filter. Catch the oil in a drain pan.
- Clean the filter sealing surface, taking care that no dirt drops into the system.
- Oil the gasket of the new filter element. Screw it into place, do not over tighten.
- Remove the compressor oil dipstick.
- Add the proper amount of compressor oil through the dipstick tube
- Reinstall the dipstick.
- Start the engine and check the compressor oil dipstick and square head plug for leaks.
- Stop the engine, check for proper oil level, add oil as needed to reach the FULL mark on the dipstick.
- Dispose of used oil and filter properly.
