Service intervals for the 185CFM, 300CFM, and 425CFM Rotair compressors are the same. Please refer to your compressor and engine user manuals for complete instructions.

4. Compressor Oil & Filter

Compressor Oil Change Schedule

Change oil and filter after the first 50 hours, and then every 500 hours after that.

Take into consideration the working conditions in which the machine operates (dusty conditions, very high temperature, etc can require more frequent oil changes).

Compressor Oil Type

Recommended: Purchase AirLube™ Portable Compressor Oil here.

Compressor oil should be AW-46 Compressor Oil (AW = All Weather), such as Rotair Airlube (recommended) or Shell Corena 46.

Compressor Oil Filters

5. Engine Oil & Filter

Engine Oil Change Schedule

Change oil and filter after the first 50 hours, and then every 500 hours after that. 

Engine Oil Type

Kohler Engine: Recommended Oil

Viscosity must be appropriate to the ambient temperature to which the engine is to be exposed.

Cummins Engine: Recommended Oil

The Cummins user manual recommends the following: "Use a high-quality 5W-40 heavy-duty engine oil, such as Valvoline Premium Blue Extreme or its equivalent." (page 260)

6. Fuel Filter

Fuel Filter Change Schedule

Change fuel filter after the first 50 hours, and then every 500 hours after that, or as needed.

7. Compressor Air Filter

Compressor Air Filter Change Schedule

• Check and clean air filters at minimum weekly. May need to be checked more often, up to a daily basis, depending on the environment the machine runs in.
• Air filters can be cleaned several times by shaking to remove loose debris or carefully with compressed air, but never with water.
• Replace every 500 hours.
